Optical Communication Transmission Project for a Railway Section of China Railway Nanning Bureau

Project Background

China Railway Nanning Bureau Group Co., Ltd., referred to as China Railway Nanning, formerly known as Nanning Railway Bureau, is a limited liability company primarily engaged in railway passenger and freight transport services. Data from three existing railway stations needs to be directly transmitted back to the central server room at the Nanning headquarters, with sufficient fiber optic resources available.

Business Challenges

1. Although fiber resources are abundant, each station is located over 100 km from the headquarters, with link loss exceeding 30 dB.

2. The customer's existing optical modules are only rated for 10–40 km, unable to meet the transmission distance requirement.

3. The new transmission link must achieve a data rate of 10 Gb/s, with a total project cost not exceeding RMB 10,000, while ensuring stable transmission.

Fholink Solution

1. Adopt Fholink's 10G 80 km optical modules combined with 10G OEO optical repeaters to build ultra-long-distance transmission links.

2. Decompose each customer link with a single span exceeding 100 km into multiple segments, each not exceeding 80 km.

Customer Benefits

1. The core components of the solution are optical modules and compact OEO repeaters, eliminating the need for optical amplifiers and dispersion compensation equipment. The total cost was lower than the customer's budget, saving additional expenses.

2. Fholink's 10G 80 km optical modules feature high transmit power and low receiver sensitivity, providing ample margin for the new links.

3. The overall solution is simple, with plug-and-play optical modules that facilitate easy deployment and maintenance for the customer.
