Product Overview

MPO‑to‑MPO fiber optic patch cords primarily use multi‑mode fiber types, commonly OM3, OM4, or OM5.

MPO connectors can be classified by structure into male connectors (with pins) and female connectors (without pins).

An MPO patch cord contains multiple fibers, with common fiber counts of 8, 12, 16, or 24 fibers.

The arrangement sequence of the multiple fibers inside an MPO patch cord is typically expressed by polarity, which includes the following types:

- Type A (Straight‑through): The fiber positions at both ends are the same. That is, fiber 1 at one end corresponds to fiber 1 at the other end, and fiber 12 corresponds to fiber 12. The key orientations are opposite (key up to key down).

- Type B (Crossed): The fiber positions at both ends are reversed. That is, fiber 1 at one end corresponds to fiber 12 at the other end, and fiber 12 corresponds to fiber 1. The key orientations are the same (key up to key up, key down to key down).

- Type C (Pairwise Crossed): For Type C MPO patch cords, each adjacent pair of fibers is crossed. That is, fiber 1 at one end corresponds to fiber 2 at the other end, and fiber 12 at one end corresponds to fiber 11 at the other end. The key orientations are opposite (key up to key down).

The connector end face of an MPO fiber optic patch cord can be classified as PC (Physical Contact), UPC (Ultra Physical Contact), or APC (Angled Physical Contact).
